For the past 18 months we’ve faced the upheaval of familiar rhythms, practices, and beliefs as COVID-19 and its acceleration of other comorbidities has led to the death of more than 680,000 Americans and 4.7 million people globally. (1, 2) If you’re weary from it all, you’re not alone.
How do we pick up the pieces when life falls apart?
How do we carry on when carrying on is so exhausting?
What do we do when God seems so far away?
From October 3 through October 24, we will explore these and other questions in a 4-week worship series, “Hanging By a Thread: When Life Falls Apart.” Through Scripture, sermon, music, and an interactive prayer wall and art project, we will make space to lament, grieve, question, and hope together. This–like any worship series–will not radically fix all that aches. Nor will it provide a 5-step plan for a pain-free life (such a life doesn’t exist). However, by God’s grace, we pray it will honor the truth of our lives and God’s never-ending love and faithfulness for all of creation–including you.
