LENT & HOLY WEEK

Return home.

Let love restore you.

Lent is a 40-day season (not including Sundays) of journeying with Jesus as he reveals the lengths that God will go to be with us, even to the point of death. The season isn’t about appeasing a wrathful God. It’s about encountering the depth of God’s love and letting it restore what has been worn thin. God knows we wander and forget, and still God calls.

We invite you to explore and join us for this season’s offerings.

CONTEMPLATIVE WORSHIP

This Lent, our worship centers on two countercultural practices: silence and stillness. Following Jesus’ example of withdrawing to quiet places, we’re creating contemplative space before each service. At 10:15, a piano prelude begins 15 minutes early with reflective bulletin art. At 8:00, the quiet begins at 7:50. You’re invited to lay down your burdens and let the calm wash over you. Come remember that you are God’s beloved. Children’s sounds and presence are always welcome.

RECTOR' FORUM: PRAYING OUR LIVES

Join Mother Maria for a series on different forms of prayer, including contemplative, intercessory, drawing, writing, and walking. Whether you’re participating in Lenten Prayer Partners or simply want to expand your prayer practice, these sessions will give you new ways to connect with God.  Sundays at 9:15

CONFESSION

Lent is a meaningful time to take up one of the church’s most misunderstood gifts: the Rite of Reconciliation, or confession. At its heart, it’s simple — a chance to speak what weighs on you, and to hear, in the presence of another person, that you are forgiven and restored.

The rite follows a brief Prayer Book liturgy, with space to share, seek counsel, or simply exhale. Whatever is said is held in absolute confidence. And because Episcopalians believe only God forgives sin, the priest’s role is simply to declare what is already true: you are loved, you are forgiven, you belong to God.

Speak with Mother Maria if you’d like to know more. Everything shared is kept in confidence.
