Pastoral Care

Pastoral Care is the work of our whole Church community and is a ministry to those who may be ill, in the hospital, shut in, grieving a death, experiencing parenthood for the first time, or in crisis.

Care Team

Professionally trained lay ministers who provide confidential, safe, and comforting care to parishioners in times of crises or transition. They also visit those who are ill and take communion to those who are unable to attend church. Contact Cheryl Williams for more information, to request a visit, or to sign up.

Knitting Group

1st and 3rd Thursdays, 9:30 a.m. (Sep.-May)

The Prayer Shawl Team meets twice a month to knit blankets and prayer shawls for those who are ill or grieving and for newborns and the newly baptized. In December, we donate shawls to Charles County Nursing and Rehab Center. We also make baby and youth blankets that are donated to service organizations such as The Center for Children, Children’s Aid of Charles County, and Project Linus. Contact Janet Sargent to sign up.

Meal Train

The Meal Train is a team of caring members who help provide meals for new parents or those recovering from illness. Contact Cheryl Williams to sign up.

Receptions & Hospitality

Our Receptions and Hospitality team coordinates receptions for special events and provides the food at funeral receptions. Contact Joyce Scofield for more information and to sign up.

Greeters and Shepherds

Our greeters welcome people as they gather for worship, ensure that guests have everything they need for worship, and serve as guideposts for questions. Shepherds are people who are paired with new members to provide ongoing guidance and support throughout their first year.

Prayer Team

The Prayer Team is a group of people committed to praying for any prayer requests that we receive. If you are interested in serving on the prayer team or would like to submit a prayer request, contact Joyce Scofield. If you would like to send a confidential prayer request to be prayed for only by the clergy, please contact Mother Maria.

Transportation Ministry

Volunteers drive other parishioners who cannot drive to Sunday services, special services or events. To get involved, contact Cheryl Williams.
